Russian-backed militants launched 38 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in ATO area in Donbas in last day.
This is reported by the ATO Headquarters press center - Ukrinform. “The enemy violated ceasefire in ATO area 38 times over the past day, particularly using the weapons which are banned under the Minsk agreements. Ukrainian troops returned fire in over half of the cases. As a result of the enemy shelling, one Ukrainian soldier was killed, three soldiers were wounded, and one soldier was injured,” the statement reads. In Luhansk direction, Russian-backed militants used 120mm mortars to launch attacks near Troitske (69km west of Luhansk) and Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk). ATO troops outside Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk), Zhovte (17km north-west of Luhansk), Zolote (67km north-east of Luhansk) and Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk) came under grenade launcher and small arms fire. In Donetsk direction, illegal armed formations opened fire from infantry weapons and tanks on Ukrainian positions in the outskirts of Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk). Militants also shelled Ukrainian strongholds outside Verkhniotoretske (22km north-east of Donetsk) and Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol). Ukrainian troops near Talakivka (20km north-west of Mariupol) and Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk) came under grenade launcher, heavy machine gun and small arms fire.
