Russian-backed militants launched 23 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in ATO area in Donbas in last day.
This is reported by the ATO press center - Ukrinform. "The enemy continues to violate ceasefire, using heavy weaponry. Over the past day, illegal armed groups violated the ceasefire 23 times. The Ukrainian Armed Forces opened fire on the enemy 14 times. As a result of the fighting, two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded," the statement reads. The tensest situation was observed in Donetsk direction, where illegal armed formations fired multiple artillery rocket systems on Ukrainian strongholds near Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk) and Opytne (11.5km north-west of Donetsk). The outskirts of Avdiivka also came under 82mm mortar and heavy machine gun fire. Russian-backed militants also fired at defenders of Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk), using 120mm and 82mm mortars and 122mm artillery. In Luhansk direction, ATO troops came under 120mm mortar fire outside Novotoshkivske (53km north-west of Luhansk). Terrorists also used 82mm mortars and weapons on infantry fighting vehicles to launch attacks on Ukrainian positions near Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk). In addition, militants used different types of grenade launchers to fire at Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk). In Mariupol direction, illegal armed formations opened fire from anti-tank grenade launchers near Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk).
