Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with European Council President Donald Tusk as part of his working visit to the United States, the press service of the head of state has reported - Ukrinform.
"The sides discussed the situation in the Donbas and agreed on their positions on the Ukrainian initiative to deploy a UN peacekeeping operation in the occupied part of the Donbas. The Ukrainian president thanked [the EU side] for the decision to extend sanctions against Russia," reads a statement posted on the website of the Ukrainian president on September 19.
