Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said this during a meeting with First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund David Lipton, the Governmental portal reported - Ukrinform.

"The Government appreciates cooperation with the Fund and its contribution to the reforms in Ukraine. We are determined to continue implementing our joint program with the IMF, which is extremely important for Ukraine. The reforms we carry out are necessary for Ukraine, not for the IMF," Groysman said.

The head of the government also informed the interlocutor about the implementation of the education, pension, medical reforms and the reform of the management of state-owned enterprises, as well as preparation of the draft state budget for the next year.

In turn, David Lipton noted that, in his opinion, Ukraine demonstrated excellent results in resolving the priority economic and social issues. "The world economy is now rising, and now it is a moment of opportunities for Ukraine that can and should be used," the IMF representative said.

According to the results of the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue cooperation to determine the next steps for financial support for reforms in Ukraine by the IMF.
