"Just now, in consultation with the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) in Kyiv, police investigators in Kyiv have said they served the notice to 23-year old Nestor Shufrych Jr., who ran over a pedestrian on Shota Rustavili St. in Kyiv," PGO spokeswoman Larisa Sarhan said on her Facebook page on Tuesday. The information was confirmed by Kyiv prosecutor's office.

"According to medical information about injuries sustained by the victim, the actions of the suspect fall under Part 2 of Article 286 (violating driving regulations, leading to serious injuries) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. After notification of suspicion was served to the driver and his lawyer, a motion on pretrial confinement in the form of 24/7 house arrest was forwarded to Kyiv's Shevchenkivsky District Court for consideration," Kyiv PGO press service said on Facebook.

A motion to arrest the vehicle involved in the incident, which was operated at the time of the accident by Nestor Shufrych Jr., was also sent to court.

As earlier reported, Nestor Shufrych Jr. was the driver of a leased Bentley that collided with the victim. His passenger was rap musician Pabl.A.

The victim was identified as a 31-year old man, who suffered two broken legs, a dislocated shoulder and various head injuries.

Nestor Shufrych Jr. did not flee the scene of the accident and cooperated with police, who said he was not driving under the influence of alcohol.

Witnesses said Nestor Shufrych Jr. was behind the wheel of the auto when the accident took place, but later moved to the passenger seat.
