MPs from the People's Front faction Leonid Yemets and Boryslav Bereza have submitted for the Verkhovna Rada’s consideration a draft law on fighting mobile phone spam, the parliament’s website reports - Ukrinform.
When commenting on the document, Yemets explained to an Ukrinform correspondent that the bill takes into account the European practice on fighting mobile phone spam. “Boryslav Bereza and I decided to adopt the international legislative practice on combating phone spam. Thus, the bill envisages a definition regarding the sending of advertising information that the subscriber did not ask about, for example, information about sales," he said. Yemets also added that at present mobile operators do not bear any responsibility for spam, although they “can track and prohibit it." At the same time, the text of this draft law has not been yet posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
