"I congratulate you on the second anniversary of establishment of the National Police of Ukraine. For two years of your activity, you have been highly appreciated by citizens due to professional fulfillment of tasks on combating crime, ensuring public safety and order, devotion to the ideals of the good and justice," the President noted, the press service of the Head of State reports.

As Poroshenko noted, the police officers now have the leading role in strengthening law and order, protecting human rights and freedoms, and the Ukrainian society relies on the principled stance, honesty and conscience of the police.

In turn, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has noted that being a police officer is a calling. "Not everyone can serve people, be ready to prevent crime, help in difficulties sometimes risking one's own life. I am proud that today we have hundreds of thousands of people who are ready to serve and defend," the Head of Government said in congratulations, released on the Government portal.
