Ukraine's public TV facing sanction for Russia's Samoilova absence at Eurovision
29 of June 2017 г.
Penalties will be applied against the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine because Russia's representative Yulia Samoilova wasn't given a chance to participate in the Eurovision 2017 International Song Contest held in Kyiv - Interfax.
"The morning started with unpleasant news for the UA:PBC [National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine]. It looks like we are facing sanctions for 'the failure to ensure the participation of Russia's contestant Yulia Samoilova in Eurovision 2017'. And I doubt that the state represented by the SBU will be willing to stand together with UA:PBC in this legal conflict," the company's chairman, Zurab Alasania, reported on Thursday morning.
