This is twice as many as in the whole year of 2015 (23,800), or 6 times more than during the same period last year (over the four months of 2016 some 8,600)," he wrote on his Facebook page.

"Today Ukrzaliznytsia unites Kyiv with the five capitals of our western neighbors: Prague, Bratislava, Budapest, Warsaw, and Bucharest. The Kovel-Chelm train has been launched, and starting from June 15 we will launch the Lviv-Varna train, which will also pass through Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi. This should make the trips of our citizens to the beaches of sunny Bulgaria more convenient," he said.

In addition, the second pair of Hyundai Rotem trains on the Kyiv-Przemysl route will be launched soon. The train will pass through Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky and Ternopil.

"Now we are working to launch direct Kyiv-Vienna trains from December this year," he added.
