President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a telephone conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron.
This is reported by the press service of the President of Ukraine - Ukrinform “The Head of State congratulated the interlocutor on having been elected President of France and expressed confidence that Ukraine had acquired a true ally on the track of restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity with his election,” the statement reads. On the eve of the meeting of Emmanuel Macron with President Putin in France, the parties discussed the situation in Donbas. The Ukrainian President referred to the cases of violation of the Minsk agreements by Russia and Russia-backed militants. In addition, Petro Poroshenko and Emmanuel Macron underscored the need for intensification of the Normandy format. The parties also coordinated positions on the eve of the G7 Summit in Italy.
