Censor.NET, spokesperson for the SBU Olena Hitlianska
wrote on Facebook.
"The Security Service of Ukraine has banned entry into the territory of Ukraine for Russian citizen Yulia Samoylova for three years," she wrote.
According to Hitlianska, the decision was based on the information about Samoylova's breach of Ukrainian law.
As previously reported, Yulia Samoylova will
represent Russia at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv with the song
Flame Is Burning. The singer is known to have given concerts in occupied Crimea.
The foreign minister of Ukraine considers such a decision of the Russian Federation to be yet another provocation. Russia, in turn, claims it sees nothing provocative in choosing Samoylova for taking part in the contest.
March 20, the Security Service of Ukraine drafted a
ruling to ban the entry into the country for the Russian singer.
