NATO concerned about the humanitarian situation in Avdeevka and urged Russia to stop violence in the Donbas.

This was announced on Wednesday, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, reports UKRINFORM correspondent in Brussels.

"We call on Russia to use its considerable influence on the separatists to stop the violence. All parties must fulfill their obligations under the Minsk agreements," - said the head of the Alliance.

He noted most recently aggravation of violence, especially near Avdeevki and worsening humanitarian situation.

According to NATO, the OSCE received, during the last week happened 5600 cases of violations of the ceasefire.

Stoltenberg also called for the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the region, which prohibited the Minsk agreements.

"OSCE observers should have safe access across the region. This should include border of Ukraine with Russia," - said the NATO secretary general.
