Ukrainian army positions in Donbas came under 47 attacks in the past 24 hours, including by artillery and grenade launchers, the Anti-Terrorist operation (ATO) staff said on Facebook on Tuesday - Interfax.

Shyrokyne and Vodiane were attacked by 122mm artillery in the Mariupol sector over the past day, it said, adding that 120mm and 82mm mortars, infantry combat vehicle weapons and tanks were used against Shyrokyne. Mortars bombarded Ukrainian army positions near Novotroyitske, Maryinka and Talakivka.

In the Luhansk sector, 120mm and 82mm mortars shelled Krymske, grenade launchers were used against Novo-Oleksandrivka, Lobacheve, Krymske and Stanytsia Luhanska, and sniper activity was observed in Stanytsia Luhanska, the report said.

In the Donetsk sector, hostiles fired 122mm artillery and 82mm mortars on Luhanske, mortars of various calibers shelled Avdiyivka, and grenade launchers were fired near Zaitseve, it said.

A source in the security agencies of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic told the Donetsk news agency later in the day that the Ukrainian army fired more than 270 artillery shells and mines on DPR territory on Monday evening and during the night.

"In the period from 6 p.m. till 2 a.m., the Ukrainian army fired 279 152mm and 122mm artillery projectiles and 82mm and 120mm mines on the Trudovske and Oleksandrivka neighborhoods in the west of Donetsk, as well as Zaitseve, Shyroka Balka near Horlivka, the villages of Spartak and Kruta Balka in the Yasynuvata district, Sakhanka, Leninske and Kominternove in the Novoazovsk district in the south of the country, and the suburbs of Dokuchayevsk," the source said.

Information about possible casualties is being verified, he said. He also said that infantry combat vehicle weapons, grenade launchers and small arms were employed in the army attacks, in addition to artillery weapons and mortars.
