Council of EU gives green light to inter-institutional negotiations on visa-free regime for Ukraine

The Council of the European Union has made decision on launch of the inter-institutional negotiations with the European Parliament and the European Commission concerning the completion of process of abolition of the visa requirements for Ukrainian citizens.
This has been supported at a meeting of the Committee of the Permanent Representatives of the Governments of the Member States to the European Union on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports from Brussels.
At the same time, the main political condition for completion of this process should have been the new so-called safety mechanism for suspension of the visa-free regime with all third countries.
