Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko being on an official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden held talks with Speaker of the Swedish parliament (the Riksdag) Urban Ahlin, the president’s press service reported on Monday evening.
The Ukrainian president thanked the speaker and Swedish MPs for the strong support of Ukraine - Ukrinform. “The parties discussed the security situation in Donbas, implementation of the Minsk agreements and de-occupation of Crimea. The President expressed gratitude for the consistent position of Sweden regarding the non-recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea and support for the regime of sanctions against Russia. The Speaker of the Riksdag emphasized the importance of rolling over sanctions against Russia until full restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” reads a report. President Poroshenko drew attention of Speaker Urban Ahlin to gross violation of human rights in temporary occupied territories in Ukraine. Also, the Ukrainian president called for the further development of Ukrainian-Swedish parliamentary dialogue, first of all in the framework of the parliamentary groups on interparliamentary relations.
