Steinmeier supports CoE initiative on monitoring in Crimea

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has stated that he supports any initiatives of the Council of Europe to ensure access of the monitoring bodies to the occupied Crimea.
Steinmeier stated this during the PACE session in Strasbourg on October 13, 112 Ukraine TV channel reports - Ukrinform.
"I only welcome the fact that the Council of Europe should carry out all possible work within the Ukrainian conflict. The consultations of the Venice Commission have shown an extremely important and effective action plan for Ukraine, which contributes to the process of democratic changes in Ukraine. For this reason, in particular, I support any CoE initiatives aimed at ensuring systematic access of the Council of Europe’s monitoring bodies to the territory of Crimea to observe human rights situation there," Steinmeier said.
