The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a draft law on amending the national budget for 2016 to provide for defense and security needs - Interfax.
"It is proposed to increase spending for the Defense Ministry to cover the deficit in funds for payments to servicemen, also increase the costs of the National Police to raise payments, payments for certain police units, as well as cash provision for the State Border Guard Service, the main intelligence department of the Defense Ministry and the SBU," Minister of Finance Oleksandr Danyliuk said. According to him, the bill is to be implemented by saving national budget funds for the fulfillment of debt obligations worth UAH 6.1 billion, servicing the public debt of UAH 100 million and reducing other low priority expenditures by UAH 400 million. Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said it is necessary to foresee in the draft law coverage of wage arrears to miners.
