Positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbas came under fire 40 times in the past 24 hours, the press center of Kyiv's army operation said on its Facebook account on Tuesday.
"Nineteen strikes were recorded in Donetsk region, 18 strikes near the city of Mariupol, and three in Luhansk region," it said - Interfax. Mortars were used against Ukrainian military positions near Leninske, Novhorodske, Opytne and Avdiyivka in Donetsk region, the press center said. Ukrainian army fortifications in the vicinity of Kamianka and the Butovka mine came under large-caliber artillery fire at around midnight. Large-caliber machineguns and grenade launchers of different types were used against Ukrainian fortifications near Luhanske, Troitske and Avdiyivka. Small arms, large-caliber machineguns, grenade launchers, infantry fighting vehicle weapons and mortars were used against Ukrainian positions near Talakivka, Pavlopil and Slavne, located in the vicinity of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka near the city of Mariupol. Ukrainian military positions came under random fire near Novozvanivka and Bohuslavske in Luhansk region.
