NewsRSSPGO Shokin back after long leave

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Shokin on Wednesday returned from leave and took up his duties, prosecutor from the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) Vladyslav Kutsenko told an UNIAN correspondent.
On February 16, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko called on Shokin to resign. On February 19, a letter of resignation by Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Shokin was submitted to the Presidential Administration. On the same day, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a motion for granting his consent to the dismissal of Shokin from the post of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. On February 22, a draft order of the President of Ukraine for granting consent to the dismissal of Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Shokin was registered in parliament. On March 10, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Groysman said that the Verkhovna Rada would consider the dismissal of Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Shokin in the next plenary week. Shokin was appointed Prosecutor General on February 10, 2015.
