The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the bill required by the EU under Ukraine's visa liberalization action plan, obliging officials to declare their property within 60 days after the enactment of the law, i.e. already in 2016, taking into account the amendments made by the President of Ukraine - UNIAN.

Should inaccurate data in officials' income declarations be filed deliberately, they shall be fined from 1,000 to 2,500 non-taxable minimum incomes. Amendments to Article 366-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine foresee a fine worth between 2,000 and 3,000 non-taxable minimum incomes, or community service for a period from 150 to 240 hours, or imprisonment for a period of up to two years with a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activity for a period of up to three years. The law also suggests that a declaration with accurate data shall be submitted within seven days from the date the original declaration was provided. At the same time, officials' vehicles and other movable property worth 100 or more minimum wages are subject to declaration, while the current level is set at 50 minimum wages.
