Ukraine Cabinet adopts decree banning trade with Crimea

Ukraine Cabinet adopts decree banning trade with Crimea
17 of December 2015 г.
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decree "On limiting supplies of certain goods, work and services from the temporarily occupied territory to other territories of Ukraine and/or from the other territories of Ukraine to the temporarily occupied territory," the government press service reported.

The decree specifies some exemptions, allowing citizens to carry personal items in hand luggage or baggage, socially important goods in the amount not exceeding UAH 10,000 (or equivalent) and with a maximum weight of 50 kilograms per citizen, according to the press service.

Exceptions also concern food, if a citizen transporting it enters the temporarily occupied territory no more than once a day, according to the report.

In addition, the Ukrainian government made it clear that the decree does not apply to the supplies of power and deliveries of humanitarian aid.

"The decree comes into force in 30 days," the press service reported.

Earlier, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted the issue of power supplies to Crimea would be determined by a special decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
