This was stated by Vice-President Joseph Biden at the joint briefing with President Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv,Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.
Ukraine has achieved progress in recent years, adopted crucial reforms. It started showing signs of economic development - growth of GDP, increase in industrial production and agricultural exports, Biden said.
He also noted the importance of the implementation of Ukraine's commitments to the International Monetary Fund for continued support.
Biden stressed that Ukraine's obligations to the IMF required well-thought political decisions not only on behalf of the president but also the parliament. The vice-president said that the U.S. understood how difficult it was to overcome the lack of economic progress in the past decades. He pledged the support of the United States for further economic development in Ukraine and promised to be its ally in negotiations with the IMF.
