Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says that sanctions against Russia for the violation of the Minsk agreement are necessary to bring peace to Ukraine.
"The decision by the European Union to introduce sanctions against the Russian Federation as an aggressor, as the country that annexed the Crimea, for the non-implementation of the Minsk agreement, is a key instrument to bring peace and stability in the Ukrainian land," Poroshenko said at a press conference with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte in The Hague on Thursday.
