According to Oleksandr Turchynov, Ukraine is opposing a violent and strong aggressor, and "unfortunately, we are not able to say today that the peaceful process has passed the point of no return."
"Russian invaders do their best to disrupt the peace plan to settle the situation in the east of the country, and are able to resume active hostilities at any time," he said, adding that this is why enhancing of the Ukraine's Army military potential "remains one of the top priorities."
The NSDC secretary noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have increased their panzer potential recently with new tanks, armored vehicles, and other armored equipment.
"Air Forces, in their turn, have received modernized jets," Turchynov said, adding that despite grave economy, the Ukrainian Navy are receiving two armored artillery boats for the first time.
"One of these boats is launched today. It comprises reliable armor and powerful weapons with maneuverability and speed," he said.
Turchynov explained that boats of this class are aimed at guarding sea borders of the country: "We have to protect Ukraine not only on the ground, but also in the skies and in the sea."
