The holding and results of the local elections became a test for the leadership of Ukraine headed by President Petro Poroshenko and his ruling coalition bloc.
The EU Observer publication made a relevant report dedicated to the 25 October local elections in Ukraine. “The local election is seen, in part, as a test for the leadership of President Petro Poroshenko and his ruling coalition bloc,” the author of the report said. According to the publication, the elections were held with a low turnout, accusations of falsifications against the background of difficult economic situation in the country. The EU Observer also published the position of President Poroshenko that the pro-Russian opposition bloc was responsible for electoral irregularities and disruption of election in Mariupol. In addition, the EU Observer wrote that the support for Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk’s party dropped to around 1 percent compared to 20 percent last year. Отправить в:      |
