NewsRSS"DPR" disarms and detains own militants
16 of October 2015 г.
A number of militants from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) terrorist organization were captured by their "comrades" during the disarmament of units in July 2015, when the DPR leadership considered them disloyal, according to Gazeta.ru.
The DPR has begun disarming whole battalions which were not willing to make concessions to Kyiv in the format of the Minsk agreements. Many units have been outlawed, and the militants declared criminals, the report reads. One of the main places where the prisoners are held in custody is a notorious SBU cellar. One of the prisoners said that he and his cellmates had been tortured and mocked. Mykola, commander of a Cossack division, was held in one of such "DPR" cellars. According to him, many fighters were held together with the Ukrainian military. "We are prisoners of war. The fact that we've been captured by our comrades changes nothing. We are typical prisoners, like the Ukrainians. But there is a difference – Ukrainians were detained in accordance with the Geneva Conventions: they had appropriate food, they could call their homes, and they were allowed walks. We saw quite a different attitude," the militant said. другие новости
