The State Aviation Administration of Ukraine adopted a decision on the complete cessation of air links between Ukraine and the Russian Federation from October 25, 2015 as the Federal Air Transport Agency of the Russian Federation has failed to provide explanations of the reasons for the ban on flights carried out by the Ukrainian airlines.
The ban will be applied to all Russian airlines and will operate until lifting of the "mirror-image sanctions" imposed by the aviation authorities of the Russian Federation with respect to the Ukrainian airlines. When they are lifted, the Russian airlines, which have not been included into the sanctions list, will be able to fly to Ukraine. The State Aviation Administration of Ukraine notified the Federal Air Transport Agency of the Russian Federation on its decision Oct. 9.
