He said that during the talks in Paris, Oct. 2, the sides were considering the dates of elections in the Donbas, which would ensure the implementation of all other political aspects of the Minsk agreements.
"As representatives of Donetsk and Luhansk were not present in Paris, Vladimir Putin, as the leader of the country striving to be a mediator in settling Ukraine's internal crisis, promised to communicate this comprehensive idea via our channels [to the "DPR" and "LPR" - ed.]," Lavrov said.
"At the moment, such signals are seemingly being sent to Donetsk and Luhansk. The reaction will be reported later," he added.
The participants to the Normandy talks, held in Paris on Oct. 2, came up with a statement that elections in the occupied Donbas could be held only under Ukrainian laws, which makes it impossible to have them on the dates scheduled by separatists.
