Yatsenyuk: Ukraine needs $1.3 bln for winter gas purchase

Ukraine needs $1.3 billion for the purchase of imported natural gas for the 2015-2016 heating season, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said at a Сabinet meeting on September 30, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
"The total package of financial resources required for the winter season amounts to $1.3 billion, of which $500 million is already in the accounts of Naftogaz Ukrainy; regarding $300 million we look forward to a positive decision by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; while another $500 million should be provided until the end of the year by the World Bank to Naftogaz Ukrainy for the heating season under state guarantees," Yatsenyuk said.
The Prime Minister said that on September 30 the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development began its consideration of the issue of providing Naftogaz Ukrainy with a $300 million loan for the purchase of gas in the EU.
