"The scheduled tactical flight training involving over 300 pilots, onboard technicians, and officers of ground services of military units of Air Forces and Air Defense Forces of the fourth Army basing in the Rostov region is conducted in the Southern Military District. About 20 aircrafts are involved in the drills, including Su-24M strike aircrafts, Mi-8 transport helicopters and Mi-26 transport and landing helicopters," the statement reads.
The crews of Su-24M frontline bombers will drill precision bombing of a full-size targets simulating engineering fortifications, manpower, and equipment of simulated enemy during the exercises of the Air Forces at "Kopanskoy" ground located in the Krasnodar Territory. The bombing will be carried out from 500 m to 2 km height. Besides bombing drills, the pilots will sharpen their skills of avoiding simulated enemy air defense means," the statement reads.
The military aviation crews will carry out about 50 helicopter sorties during the exercises working out delivery missions of personnel, equipment and heavy loads on external sling to places of exercises, landing on unprepared sites as well as search and evacuation of victims.
