Number of MPs to be reduced by 30% in Ukraine

Due to the new law on local elections in Ukraine , the number of MPs will be reduced by 30%.
First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Vitaliy Kovalchuk said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday, Ukrinform reports.
"After the introduction of this law, there will be a great reduction in the number of deputies of local councils. Now, the number of MPs of all levels will be reduced by a third," he said.
As a reminder, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the law on local elections. This law, which was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on July 14, was handed over to the President on July 28.
