This was announced by the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Main Directorate in the Donetsk region Viacheslav Abroskin on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports.
"The distance between Avdiivka and Kramatorsk is about 80 km, and the life in these cities differs as black and white. Yesterday, after presentation of the new head in Kramatorsk I visited Avdiivka. There was an eerie silence, as the night before militants had shelled the city. Terrorists deliberately destroy infrastructure, ruin Avdiivka Coke Plant. The worst of all is their deliberate artillery attacks on civilian homes," Abroskin said.
As pointed out by the Donetsk police head, people stay in the city because they have nowhere to go.
"The plant is a place where they earn their living to survive. According to a female resident, she is afraid not to die, but to become crippled. These crimes, the shelling of civilians have no time limitations," he added.
According to him, during the period from Jan. 1 to Aug. 4, 2015 Avdiivka has been under constant shelling by illegal armed units of the so-called "DPR." For the current period, as a result of shelling, 31 civilians have been killed, including 11 women, 20 men. 87 people have been wounded, including 23 women, 61 men, and three children (born 2002, 2006 and 2014).
"That's the story of the strong modern city of Avdiivka," he stated sadly.
