NewsRSSUSA imposes a series of new sanctions against Russia
31 of July 2015 г.
The USA has imposed a series of new sanctions concerning individuals and entities related to Russian aggression against Ukraine and Crimean occupation, as well as against former leaders of the regime of Viktor Yanukovych. Their potential assets in the United States must be frozen, American individuals and legal entities are prohibited to conduct business with them, the U.S. Department of the Treasury reported. "Our message is clear: we will continue to act to ensure the effectiveness of our sanctions, which will not be rolled back until the Minsk Agreements are fully implemented," Acting Director of the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) John E. Smith said. In today's action, OFAC designated 13 individuals and entities that have supported serious and sustained evasion of existing sanctions, two entities that operate in the arms or related materiel sector of the Russian Federation, four former Ukrainian government officials or close associates for being complicit in the misappropriation of public assets and/or undermining of democratic processes or institutions in Ukraine as well as an entity owned or controlled by, or acting for or on behalf of, one of the designated individuals, five Crimean port operators, and one Crimean ferry operator. According to him, today's steps are consistent with the U.S. commitment to seek a diplomatic resolution to the crisis in Ukraine by maintaining our sanctions on Russia, which will not be rolled back until the Minsk Agreements are fully implemented. This follows an EU action last month to extend its sanctions on Russia and Canada's announcement also last month to supplement its own sanctions on Russia. FM-TV другие новости
