NewsRSSRussia to veto UN resolution on MH17 tribunal, - Churkin
28 of July 2015 г.
The Russian Federation pledges to veto the UN Security Council resolution on setting up an MH17 international tribunal, if the document gains nine votes required for its adoption. This was stated by Vitaly Churkin, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, TASS reports. "We will vote against it. I have no doubt in this. If the resolution gains nine or more votes, it will be vetoed," he said. In his opinion, the resolution will be adopted in no way. Churkin also expressed hope that the authors of the idea - Australia, Belgium, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Ukraine - would not put the document to a vote. According to him, if the proponents still dare to submit the resolution for consideration of the Security Council, they will assume the "political and practical responsibility for the consequences." Churkin believes the document to be "an obvious attempt to create another hotbed of confrontation that could have very far-reaching consequences for international relations." FM-TV другие новости
