The incident in Mukachevo, Zakarpattia region, Ukraine, should not affect the issue of visa regime with Ukraine. This was stated by representative of the Slovak Foreign Ministry, Peter Stano, Deutsche Welle reports. "According to Stano, it is a separate process in which the EU announced the plans to introduce a visa-free regime as soon as Ukraine meets the necessary technical and legislation criteria," reads the article. It also reported that the police and the border guard service of Slovakia tightened security measures after the shootout in the area. "As Mukachevo is located only a few dozen kilometers from the Slovak border, the Slovak police took the necessary security measures immediately after the incident, on the same day. These include, in particular, measures aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens of Slovakia on the Slovak-Ukrainian border," Stano said.
