Russian court dismisses Savchenko appeal

he Moscow City Court on Wednesday dismissed the appeal submitted by the lawyers of Ukrainian pilot and MP Nadiya Savchenko against refusal to release her from custody in view of her PACE delegate immunity, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
As reported, May 6, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow ruled that Savchenko was a delegate to the PACE, according to the provided documents. However, as before, the PACE delegate immunity was recognized as "functional" and therefore release from custody was denied.
