EP: Sanctions against Russia should be extended and tightened

Sanctions against Russia should be extended and even tightened till the Minsk agreements are not implemented and the Crimean annexation is continued.
This has been reported in the European Parliament resolution on military and strategic situation in the Black Sea region after the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia that was adopted in Strasbourg on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"The European Parliament believes that the sanctions should be extended and even tightened if Russia does not perform the Minsk agreements on ceasefire and continues destabilizing situation in the east of Ukraine, as well as the illegal annexation of Crimea," the document says.
MEPs expressed the need to consider the possible supply of defense weapons to Ukraine and help the state to strengthen its defense capabilities.
