"The Ukrainian command was forced to use artillery, which had previously been withdrawn to the areas in the rear defined by the Minsk accords to stop the enemy onslaught and avoid casualties among the servicemen. All the international partners have been informed about this,"Censor.NET reports citing statement of the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It was reported that the Russian terrorists have launched major offensive on the Ukrainian troops' positions at about 4 a.m., cynically ignoring the Minsk agreements.
"The heaviest attack was committed near the villages of Krasnohorivka and Marinka near Donetsk. The enemy has thrown more than ten tanks and up to one thousand troops into battle against Ukrainian forces deployed near Marinka. The offensive was supported by 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled guns. The attacks on our positions at other directions were also supported by fire from artillery and large caliber mortars, which, by the way, should have been withdrawn 25 or more kilometers away from the line of contact according to the Minsk agreements," the General Staff added.
