The situation in eastern Ukraine remains tense. Despite the declared ceasefire, Russian-backed terrorists continue to fire at Ukrainian army positions and settlements in Donbas.

The map reflecting the situation in Donbas as of 12.00 on May 29 has been released by the information and analytical center of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council.

During the last day one Ukrainian serviceman has been killed, another six injured in the area of the anti-terrorist operation in Donbas as a result of hostilities and military clashes.

Spokesman for the Presidential Administration on the anti-terrorist operation, Colonel Andriy Lysenko said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Over the past day, as a result of active hostilities and provocations one our soldier was killed, another six were injured," he said.

According to him, ATO forces sustained the greatest losses in suburbs of Donetsk.

Besides, according to Lysenko, militants' shelling led to the death of a volunteer. "Ukrainian volunteer from the Lviv region was killed as a result of a mortar shelling of the village of Opytne," he said.
