NewsRSSNew Polish President to defend Ukrainian interests in EU more than Komorowski
26 of May 2015 г.
Poland's newly elected President Andrzej Duda will more actively defend the interests of Ukraine in the EU than its predecessor Bronislaw Komorowski. Political analyst, representative of the Polish Foundation "Freedom and democracy" Ivan Matkovsky said this to an Ukrinform correspondent. "Duda is bigger supporter of Ukraine than Bronislaw Komorowski. Duda is a representative of the Law and Justice Party, which has already worked out its position on Ukraine and which believes that it is impossible to build a strong union of states in Central and Eastern Europe without strong Ukraine," the expert said. According to him, Duda will do his best for Ukraine to become a full participant in the discussion in the format of the Visegrad Four. In addition, he promised to contribute to the development of a position in the painful discussion on the events in the Volyn region in 1943-1944. Duda said he would set up the joint Ukrainian-Polish commission of historians to work on this issue. другие новости
