Fate of visa-free regime for Ukrainian to be decided in year-end

The European Union is ready to start the procedure for granting a visa-free regime to the Ukrainian and Georgian citizens after positive proposals of the European Commission, which are expected in the end of 2015.
This has been said in a joint declaration of the Eastern Partnership Summit, approved in Riga on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"They [the Heads of States and Governments of the European Union] welcome the progress of Georgia and Ukraine in the implementation of plans for visa liberalization, as it was stated in the report on progress of the European Commission. They are waiting for the completion of implementation of the second phase of the action plan on visa liberalization by Ukraine and Georgia, when all the criteria and necessary reforms will be fulfilled. They also welcome the readiness of the European Commission to provide substantial support for Ukraine and Georgia in the implementation of their action plans, as well as its intention to report on the progress of Ukraine and Georgia until the end of 2015," the document says.
The fulfillment of all criteria will allow completing the process of visa liberalization, and then the European Commission will propose the European Parliament and the European Council to cancel visa requirement in accordance with EU legislation for the Ukrainian and Georgian citizens.
