The situation in eastern Ukraine remains tense. Despite the declared ceasefire, Russian-backed terrorists continue to fire at Ukrainian army positions and settlements in Donbas.

The map reflecting the situation in Donbas as of 12.00 on May 22 has been released by the information and analytical center of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council.

Avdiyivka coke plant, 20 kilometers north of Donetsk, due to heavy shelling by rebels on Thursday and significant damages to plant communications has reduced its output.

Avdiyivka coke plant Musa Mahomedov reported in his Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"The plant was hit by more than 30 projectiles, production facilities were damaged, and electrical supply lines were cut. We are forced to halve the production of coke in the 2nd coke plant because of broken internal communication infrastructure," wrote the manager.

Mahomedov said that after the massive shelling of the plant on Thursday, May 21, a 26 year-old employee was killed, and two were wounded.
