Ukrainian observers suspect phosphorous munitions were used by terrorists while shelling villages in Donbas (PHOTOS)
20 of May 2015 г.
The terrorists are using "scorched earth" policy while shelling villages in the Donbas.

Censor.NET reports citing the statement of the ATO press-center posted on Facebook.

"The observers of the Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the cease-fire regime and stabilization of the demarcation line continue recording attacks on peaceful cities and villages committed by the pro-Russian separatists and make every effort to stop them. Thus, another shelling of the village of Pisky, conducted May 19, 2015 at about 1.00 a.m. was managed to be stopped at the fifth try. There are almost no local residents left in the village, only the Armed Forces of Ukraine detachments. The militants act using the "scorched earth" tactics. They impacted the residential neighborhoods by the incendiary (probably phosphorus) ammunition this time," the statement reads.

The photo depicts a single-storey house situated on Chervonoarmiiska Street, which was burning for at least 12 hours.

The press center also reminded that the use of phosphorus weapons against troops that are deployed in the cities and villages is prohibited by the Protocol III to the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons.

It was also reported about the shelling of residential neighborhoods in Avdiivka that was recorded May 18 at 5.30 p.m.: the 152-mm projectile exploded near the power transmission pole and created 2.5 meter wide and 1.1 meter deep crater. The electricity transmission line was damaged as a result and the area has been left without power. There were no civilian casualties.
