The Russian rubles that have been given to pensioners and the so called republic governmental employees in Donetsk "DPR" have not been used in Russia and cannot be exchanged for other currencies.

The Crisis Center Defense of Mariupol told reporters on Friday, May 15, Ukrinform reports.

The report stated that the Crisis Center has information that pensions and salaries have been paid in part or in full with Russian rubles during April-May 2015 in the Donetsk areas controlled by “DNR".

The representatives noted that DPR's leaders used methods of intimidation and blackmail, forced all retail organizations, shops, markets, consumer services, public transport, private transportation operators to accept those Russian rubles for transactions involving goods and services.

Meanwhile, the exchange kiosks have refused to accept those ruble banknotes, according to the Crisis Center report.
