Yatseniuk: We have won this struggle for transparency of the natural gas market

Today Ukraine has an opportunity to buy natural gas without intermediaries directly from European partners.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said this during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"We waived intermediaries' services. It was not easy, but we have won this struggle for transparency of the natural gas market, including through the adoption of the Law 'On gas market.' Today, we have competitive, diversified gas market in which we buy natural gas from European partners under direct contracts," Yatseniuk said.
He noted that earlier Ukraine had bought natural gas only from Gazprom and through intermediaries "who supplied natural gas and earned billions of dollars."
Now, according to him, the country is working directly with the leading European suppliers of natural gas.
