NewsRSSRussia bans import of household cleaning products from Ukraine
3 of April 2015 г.
Russia's consumer protection watchdog has banned imports of household cleaning products produced by U.S. company SC Johnson in Ukraine, media reports said Friday. The Federal Consumer Protection Service found that several SC Johnson products did not meet “hygienic requirements concerning irritant effect” and banned import of a range of the company's goods from March 23, the service's press service told the TASS news agency, Ukraine Today reports. The brands now banned include Mr. Muscle household cleaners, Toilet Duck toilet cleaners, Kiwi shoe care products, Glade air fresheners and Raid insect killers, TASS reported. The consumer protection watchdog could not immediately be reached for comment. The move is the latest in a series of bans imposed by Russia on imports of products from Ukraine since Moscow's annexation of Crimea in early 2014 and support of Ukrainian separatists soured relations between the two countries. Moscow blocked fruit and vegetable imports from Ukraine late last year. News agency RBC said the watchdog only found violations in Mr. Muscle and Toilet Duck products but that other SC Johnson products — with the exception of soap — were banned as well. The reason for their inclusion was not clear. Almost all major retailers in the Moscow region received a notification on the import ban, RBC reported, citing a copy of a letter to retailers dated March 30. Some regional retailers also received the notification, the report said. другие новости
