The decree was signed by the head of state during a meeting with Kolomoiskyi, the press ssrvice of the head of state reports.
The president noted that the Dnipropetrovsk region should remain a reliable protective frontier in the east of Ukraine, the statement says. "We need to ensure peace, stability, and tranquility. The Dnipropetrovsk region should remain a stronghold of Ukraine in the east, to defend the peace and quiet of citizens," Poroshenko said.
According to the president, Valentyn Reznichenko will be appointed acting chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.
Reznichenko is a close business partner of head of presidential administration Boris Lozhkin. Reznichenko and Lozhkin worked together in the Ukrainian Media Holding which the latter subsequently sold. Reznichenko's professional career is related to media and he has never been a politician before.
