Threats to visa-free travel not mentioned at Ukraine–EU Summit - Kuleba
13 of October 2021 г.
At the Ukraine–EU Summit on October 12, there were no talks about threats to visa-free travel or "failures" of the EU's policy in Ukraine.

"I want to draw attention to the issues not raised at yesterday's summit. There were no public or private talks about any mythical threats to visa-free travel, about any failures of the European Union's policy in Ukraine," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said at an online briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Kuleba called it telling evidence that the fakes of certain political forces, or demotivating political statements that Ukraine–EU relations undergo crisis and have no prospects, in fact, have nothing to do with reality.

"There is no threat to Ukraine's visa-free travel and our cooperation, our integration," the foreign minister stressed.

As reported, the 23rd Ukraine–EU Summit took place in Kyiv on Tuesday. As a result, several agreements were signed, including on the common aviation area.

Earlier, Radio Liberty reported on a document in which several EU countries assessed the work of the liberalized visa regime with the countries of the Western Balkans, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. Assessments were made by Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, and Slovakia. According to them, Ukraine remains a cause for concern.

Later, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna said that the report on the EU visa-free regime with Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries released on August 4 "acknowledges that Ukraine continues to meet the criteria necessary for visa-free travel with the European Union."
