“One more important partner has just confirmed participation in the Crimea Platform summit on August 23rd. The overall number of participants has risen to 31. We keep working on expanding the core of the international coalition for the de-occupation of Crimea,” Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba announced on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
As reported, apart from the main meeting, the Crimean Platform will include four thematic panels on non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea, militarization of the Azov-Black Sea region, ways to reintegrate Crimea through human rights and sustainable development, and restoration of rights of Crimean Tatar people.
The Crimean Platform is a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to step up the efficiency of international response to the occupation of Crimea, respond to growing security challenges, increase international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations, protect victims of the occupation regime, and achieve the main goal: to de-occupy Crimea and return it to Ukraine.
