"The Government decided on 22 July that residents of Ukraine will be exempt from the entry ban," the statement said.
The Swedish government added that the decision would take effect on July 26, 2021.
According to the website of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, foreign citizens who are exempt from the ban on entry to Sweden are required to present a negative COVID-19 test or a vaccination certificate (COVID certificate) when they enter the country.
Currently, Sweden only recognizes vaccination certificates issued in the EU/EEA countries or in Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, or the Vatican.
